I got an email one night from a bride to be. Her photographer was unable to photograph her wedding in two days time and someone had recommended me. So I found myself unexpectedly getting ready to photograph a wedding. It was a small backyard wedding, but sunlight streamed over the lawn and circle of white chairs, filled with close friends and family.

After the ceremony we drove out to Lake St Clair to get photos of the bridal party beside the sparkling water. Even though the sun was still quite high I still got some of my favourite kinds of shots with sparkling sun flares and smiling faces.

Back at the house I took group shots of family and friends and some staged cake cutting shots, as that would not happen until much later. The cake was quite beautiful too, all hand made by a relative, and so delicate! I am just glad that I had that day available so I could document it for them, so they have beautiful images to vividly remind them of their beautiful day.
